Youth “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV)
Campaign!!
San Diego Black American Policy Association of California, Youth “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) Campaign!!
Our campaign goal is to educate students about the importance of civic participation and voting in a way that encourages lifelong participation, awareness, and knowledge in shaping their communities. We have partnered with four San Diego Unified School District schools in District 4 to host the 2024 BAPACSD GOTV campaign.
The campaign's objective is to engage students in increasing voter turnout in a fun and engaging way. Students ages 10-16 will learn about the importance of voting and be empowered to lead adults in their families to register to vote and vote by mail.

The campaign is modeled after the https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/student-voting-programs It will include committee videos, social media platforms, and a 7 week of studentparticipation/homework. The homework will take less than 30 minutes a week. The campaign will be conducted in one classroom in 4 schools in the 4th District. We believe the campaign must be designed in consultation with and pre-approved by eachschool's principal before the end of the current year. It will begin on, or about September 2024

We believe the campaign must be designed in consultation with and pre-approved by each school's principal before the end of the current year. It will begin on, or about September 2024 and end one week after the election. After the votes are counted we will have a pizza party for all the campaign participants (students) and a prize for the class that has the most voter participation.
